I took this photo early one morning of an unnamed creek that flows alongside the Waterfall Trail near Mackenzie King Estate. It’s quite a beautiful creek, meandering back and forth through the forest until it becomes a waterfall flowing over the Eardley escarpment. At this time of year, late July, the creek had little flow in it, but at this particular spot there was a small waterfall which beckoned to me, to pause and check it out. I was quite delighted to find that the camera captured more colours than my eyes could see – the lovely green colours in the water were from the reflections of the canopy of trees as the early morning sun shone through.
I had been sitting on some rocks almost in the stream itself, taking photos when I gazed around and was curious about the green moss growing on the edge of a rock at my feet, being washed by the water rushing past. Would my camera be able to capture this? Again, I was pleasantly surprised at the colours the camera captured. Clearly, exploring and playing with my camera will aid me on my journey of seeing more intimately.
