As I mentioned last week, I’m enjoying experiencing the ‘bare bones’ of the November landscape. This week as I continued to explore this theme I loved how much more detail is possible to see in the creeks with all the shrubbery out of the way: their sinuous winding nature, the rocky banks, the exposed rocks in the rapids, the patterns of the repeating rapids and, the beauty of ice forming on the rocks and branches. There are just so many different patterns of ice forming at this time of year.
Here are a few November scenes along this hilly trail. As I walked along in the late afternoon, I couldn’t help but anticipate the thrill I’ll experience skiing out to Meech Lake on this trail once we get our winter’s snow (which arrived the morning after these photos were taken). Its one of my favourite ski trails!
