Softness of Fresh Snow

A fresh snowfall and mild temperatures earlier this week had me chose to wander in the woods near the Notch Road, rather than go to church. The branches were lightly laden with fresh snow and the creeks were still visible as it hadn’t yet been cold enough for freeze over. A world of contrasts before my eyes – of dark and light – dark moving water or dark branches juxtaposed against the beautiful fresh white snow. And because the sun was not shining it was almost monochromatic contributing to its soft atmosphere. Here are a few photos of  ‘softness’.
