Walking along the O’Brian Trail (#36) today it was a delight to welcome the new wild leek growth. Even though there was little evidence of other wildflowers along this trail it does feel like spring and new growth surely is not far away! Further along the trail where a familiar bog was full of last year’s bull rushes looking every bit like golden wheat ready for harvesting, I wondered how long it would be before I’d see this year’s growth poking through here. There’s something special about this time of year when its so easy to see the new and the old co-existing.
