Spring Trilliums

Along with so many others I can’t resist the attraction of our iconic Trillium in the Gatineau Park.  The blooms are at their peak but with the frigid temperature today I had the place to myself as there were few out to view them other than the ocassional jogger or trail runner.  The strong wind tossing the blooms here and there did challenge photo taking but regardless, there’s nothing quite like a breathtaking view of a solid blanket of Trilliums to say spring has truly arrived in the Park.  Sadly, they won’t last long, as Trillium don’t survive once the tree foliage shades the forest floor.
