This past weekend I was camping at Taylor Lake and rose early to see the sunrise. I was blessed with a flat calm lake and a clear sky. All I could ask for. I also was blessed with a visitor. As I was lost in the beauty of what I was viewing through my camera lens, some snorting scuffing sounds penetrated my awareness. Lo and behold, I had an adult bear just about 75 feet away digging at some sort of feast in the marsh right next to my site. After trying to take a photo of it (which ended up being blurry – camera settings for sunrises don’t work for bears moving around slowly!) it took me a while for my adrenalin to calm down and my hypervigilance to turn off. The lake was beautiful with mist flowing over the water and the sun gradually emerging from behind the hills. An abundance of experiences!
