One afternoon last week while camping in Killarney Provincial Park we paddled the entire shoreline of George Lake and, regardless of whichever direction we paddled, we encountered strong head winds. This lake has breathtaking views of white quartzite rock along one side and pink granite on the other so we were thoroughly enjoying taking in the beauty. However, it was challenging, so the portage to Freeland Lake invited us. A peaceful refuge from the wind where white foam mingled with weeds and bright green moss thrived on granite rock. We enjoyed the rest in the sun surrounded by beauty.
