This summer I became so turned off bogs, which normally I find quite beautiful with all their varied and plentiful growth. The dryness simply transformed most of them into mudflats or shallow uninteresting places. When I paused and looked closer at this particular bog the other morning I saw beauty in the patterning of the the plant growth and the reflection of the hillside in the clearer plant free waters. I also was treated to a display of otters (I think) swimming around.
