I was delighted last week to ski the O’Brien Trail (#36) all the way to Herridge Lodge. The weather was outstanding as were the snow conditions. While I often hike this trail I haven’t skied it for over 10 years. I love the variety along the way – both the terrain and the settings, so was interested to see this wetland in winter. Last fall’s expanse of dense brown topped bulrushes was transformed into delicate looking wind swept patterns on snow. I feel so privileged to be able to see the Park in all its seasons.
