I did one of my long ski outings today to savour this special time of the ski season. It felt so much like spring with all its delights such as brilliant sunshine, warm temperatures, birds singing loudly everywhere and, the sounds of gurgling water in the open creeks. And yet at the same time here was all this snow. In spite of all the rain this winter the snow pack is one of the thickest for this time of year. Today’s ski was one of my slowest ever – and not just because of the heavy wet snow. I found myself stopping all along the way as I savoured all the beauty of this experience – the meeting of emerging spring with weakening winter. A precious delight experienced fully for this short period in the Park.
Winter Holding On?
