My daughter Carolyn and I spent a few days last week camping in a cabin in the Gatineau Park at lac Philippe. We had amazing weather so enjoyed time reading on the beach, a treat for both of us, and a luxury for me to be able to complete the better part of my novel. It also allowed us to experience the exuberant joy of the many young families playing in the great outdoors together. Generally, I avoid the busy places in the Park but last week it was special as I was reminded of the many times with my own children and then later my grandchildren enjoying ourselves outdoors. Summer is such a lovely time for us here in Canada to enjoy water, sun and sand and it is a gift to have the Gatineau Park so accessible to us.
Quintessentially Summer
