A walk on the Lariault Trail never disappoints when its too cold to do anything else and today being -24C (with a -33C wind chill) was definitely one of those days. It was energizing to be out under a solid blue sky, with bright sun and yes, even a strong wind on our faces. The attractions for me however were the striking ice formations all along the creeks, which just three days ago were at maximum flow with heavy rains and then immediately underwent a flash freeze when our current Arctic air mass moved in. It’s exhilarating to be out in nature experiencing the results of changing weather phenomena. These photos were taken of the creek near the Waterfall Trail.
