Quiet

by Margaret on May 21, 2019

Fortune Lake is one of my ‘go to places’  to experience quiet and peacefulness.  No matter the season I always find it beautiful. Today I was struck by the impact of the escarpment– Fortune Lake is on the north side of the escarpment, so spring was dragging behind the warmer south facing areas.    In fact, there was a drabness that only became alive during the very brief sunny periods.   During these periods, however,  the sky was spectacular.  The wind across the lake was vicious so I was glad of my fleece, jacket and gloves.  I’ve learned over the years to  be prepared for different weather in the Park than at home, even on May 21st.
