Seeing Through the Fog

by Margaret on October 5, 2019

I managed to get  up to the Gats early enough this morning to beat the sun rising on the ridge in Meech Creek Valley.  So, Callum and I wandered around enjoying the quiet, our solitude and the feel of damp fog on our cheeks.  (We also checked out the construction work on the bridge on Trail 50 that crosses over the creek , even though the signs said ‘no entry’.  Its quite the construction job – cement casings and all.) And, it was cold!  -5C with my car thermometer meant leather mitts along with my down jacket.  I loved seeing the impact on the fog of the sun’s early morning progression and was surprised in viewing my photos that the camera could see through the fog in some of the photos, when my eye in the field could not.

I don’t know if I’d say the colours are ‘at their peck’, but they are pretty close.  This week should provide great viewing, if you can avoid the crowds.
