November is the best time of year to tromp around off trail exploring ice patterns in the creeks as the temperature falls. And last night was a cold one. This morning when we started our tai chi in the park, the temperature was -10C with a windchill of -17C. It was challenging to keep warm because tai chi really isn’t an aerobic exercise. Being in the exposed wind reminded me that I love checking out creeks in the Gats for some of nature’s artistry created by freeze up patterns in the creeks. I love it when I’m able to go off trail and especially now with all the foliage gone and the ground firm. So, I checked out a few creeks – along Trail #40, Chelsea Creek and Penguin Picnic Field. Here are some photos from Penguin Picnic Field.
