Mid-morning and the temperature is perfect, at about 20C, with calm flatwater, lovely dry air and no bugs (well almost). The Canada Goose didn’t move the entire time I sat there in thought. This spot was so perfect for just hanging out sitting on a rock and connecting with the energy of the earth while I let my body process its feelings about recent news: the grim discovery of the remains of 215 children in a mass grave at a former Indian Residential School in BC. Such a harsh horrific history.
Callum seems particularly happy today coming up to me after playing in the water to enthusiastically lick my cheek. My privileged life is such a contrast to those dear young children taken from their families so many years ago.
