My Lost Season

by Margaret on June 17, 2021

Two months is a long time when you love watching the seasons evolve, which is one of my pastimes when I’m hiking:  the melt of the snow, the flow of the creeks and the appearance of spring wildflowers.  I missed spring 2021 in the Gats this year because of the closure of the ON/QC border due to Covid-19.  Today was my first outing there since early April and it was  glorious: a record green and blue day.

Here are some photos comparing early April and today as I hiked to the lookout on Carman Lake and on to the end of Brown Lake where the cabin is.  The pinkish buds on the trees were just  starting to appear in my early April photos and today I was surrounded by vibrancy.

I feel a real missing in my photo collection as spring time is one of my favourite times for taking photos.
