Watching the leaves torn from the trees in my backyard during the deluge on Saturday told me that the colours would surely be gone in the Gats. I’d had such a wonderful time last week basking in the colours so was sad to think of them gone for this season. The colours were astounding being at their peak including the vibrant reds, oranges, bronze, and the bright yellows. All there to feast your eyes.
The view, and the colours, were so stunning from the lookout on Carman Lake that I could hardly pull myself away. I go here every year for photos of the colours, and you’d think I’d be used to the view, but no, it takes my breath away every year, and this year even more. There must have been something about the rains we had this summer that produced the vibrancy.
It felt the same looking out from Tawadina Lookout and then, gazing at the colourful ridges creating the shoreline at the north end of Meech Lake. Stupendous colours.
I hope you enjoy these photos as the bright colours have gone until next year.
