The saying is that where one road ends another one begins. Cowden Rd. ends abruptly at Meech Creek and when there at other times of the year I would feel so frustrated because the old bridge had been removed. I would sit there wishing I could access the trail on the other side and explore that area.
Early last week I stood at that spot, feeling the same, except I noticed that many had skied or snow shoed or hiked along the frozen creek and accessed the other side easily. I returned with friends on Friday and off we went snowshoeing along the winding frozen creek starting out close to P16. We climbed the bank and accessed the trail on the other side. I felt liberated.
The winding frozen creek is beautiful so I’ll do this again before the spring melt. Callum was so happy running freely here and there.
The dull day didn’t interfere with enjoyment, but meant my photos are not that great.
